Thank you Fran Martini for recommending the name Chad. We love it! Fran is also known for her invention, The Serveza! Check it out!
So, back to the story…
We took Chad to his first Trail Blazers game Thursday night. He was super excited to see the sport we introduced to him via TV live at The Rose Garden. Chad knew going in that the Blazers have been struggling this season, but he told us he’d make sure the New Orleans Hornets went home with a loss, and indeed they did just that.
Chad had a great time watching the first half. He loved how the game started with loud music, lights and then proceeded to the introduction of the players. He got into the game too. Chad would swing his laser in the air when the Blazers made some great shots and blocks. I would say this extraterrestrial from planet Bräuzeer was on his way to becoming a true Portlander.
Chad thoroughly enjoying the game |
At the half, we took Chad out to the beer garden just beyond our section where he ordered up his favorite style of beer, an IPA; Pyramid’s ThunderHead to be exact. Chad enjoyed his beer, but with his recent understanding of our monetary system, he was flabbergasted we paid $27 for three beers.
$9 Beer! ET says, ouch. |
The Trail Blazers fell 1 point short of reaching 100 that evening, so Chad was a little disappointed that he didn’t get to experience the free Chalupa deal that we told him about. If Felton made his 2 free throw shots in the last seconds of the game it would’ve happened. I told Chad I’d take him to Taco Bell soon so he could try a Chalupa. He was thrilled about it, until I told him he may want to take some anti-diarrhea tablets prior as a precaution. On that note, he said he’d rather not go and stick to his diet of pizza and craft beer.
Final seconds of the game |
At the end of the night, I asked Chad how he knew the Blazers would take the win. He told me he can control certain things by using his mind in combination with his green laser. He made sure Babbitt made several big 3 point plays amongst other things. I asked Chad why he didn’t make Felton’s 2 free throws go in so Blazers fans could’ve been treated to their free Chalupa coupon. He told me there were so many people in the Rose Garden bad mouthing Felton that the combined negative energy neutralized his powers. So, I guess Felton played the game all on his own Thursday night and did very well, despite the missed free throw attempts at the end. Heck, those Toxic Hell Chalupas ain’t no good for ya anyway.
